Sept 9-I gave a 1 star review about this bank. They wanted me to reach out to either their email or through Facebook messenger.
Oct3rd- I gave a detailed response about my daughter and my own experience dealing with this bank via email. I’m not too optimistic that either of us will get a response from the bank. So far I’m right because as of today (Oct 9th), we have received no response. Yet they wanted us to reach out. Next step is to inform their head office

I am shocked and outraged to learn that a hidden camera was found in the washroom at National Bank, where my friend works. This is a gross violation of privacy and a clear indication of the bank's failure to enforce proper security policies to protect employees and customers. Such negligence is unacceptable. If immediate action is not taken to address this breach and implement stricter privacy measures, I will not hesitate to pursue legal action for this appalling disregard for basic human rights.

When wait times are between 2&3 hours consistently, it might be time to hire more staff or get a website that allows people to make payments and have self serve options. It’s 2024 but this bank is in the 1900s. Holy smokes.

Worst bank in the world
You can't even imagine without any reason, when they put you account on hold your chequing account having your own money in it and your credit card without letting you know and you went for any shopping and you have to feel very ashamed on that shop after shopping when you try to pay from debit or credit card .
Worst bank , they should exit from banking

Avoid this bank and especially this location. Since day 1 of opening what was supposed to be a joint account January 9 2024 it has been problem after problem and the icing on the cake was after waiting almost 7 days for a card I asked the telephone support if I brought in my id could I recieve a card at the branch and they said of course . January 15th 2024 after work I hurry to the bank which has the worst hours ever and there is only one actual branch in Edmonton and it is located downtown 26 minute drive from my house . My car wouldn't start as we were in a minus 40 cold snap so I took a cab letting the driver know I would pay him after I got my new card. We left my house at 4:20pm and I arrive by 446. As soon as I walk into the deserted branch a woman came from the back and without identifying herself or asking for my identification she denied me a card ect I already wrote a review but it was accidently out as my friend dusty after she used my phone .

Next day I recieved a call because I complained the night before and turns out that woman was the branch manager and her name is Jesse Cai and she started telling me I
Broke trust and asking me why I opened the accountin the first place acting very rude and suspicious and I tried to explain to her the situation and that I had all the documents she needed but she wasn't hearing any of it and after hanging up I find out the next day that she told the security team my address was fake and I was fake and even I recieved a letter with my name spelled wrong that she closed the account .

Now they are withholding almost $8k from a governent cheque that was direct deposit and we are at risk of losing our kids and home. I fild a human rights complaint as she is clearly biased and that is not allowed.

Run from this bank they will treat you so badly and attempt to ruin your life.

Have truly enjoyed my banking experience with NBC, its unfortunate that our banking relationship has come to an end, but I am sure they will give every other client the same respect and professionalism they gave me!

So far not a good bank at all infact hands down most inconvenient financial institutions I have ever dealt with although I must say phone support has been very helpful and informative making me feel welcome . That CANNOT be said for this branch by rogers place. I opened the account roughly 9 days ago and had been waiting patiently for a debit card in the mail as my money was already deposited in the account but I cannot access it with out debit card not even able to etransfer our bill pay so I called today finally to ask if I went to a brick and mortar branch would I be able to obtain a debit card there and I was told absolutely just bring id .

Now due to the -40 cold snap my vehicle would not start. Go figure and I needed to buy groceries for my kids and it's my money so I had to take a cab 25 minutes from clareview after work at 415 and they close at 5 pm.
I told cabbie I would pay him once I got me card from the bank and he was cool enough to hurry it up and we made it luckily at 4:48 pm .As soon as I walk in a lady came from a room and was basically telling me that someone like me couldn't possibly get a new card as I haven't been verified and that she would also need to verify all my deposits into my account and that it takes more than 15 minutes to get a card blah blah blah. I told her I already called in to confirm that I can go to branch and get the card and that I had been waiting almost 10 days for to arrive, I had already called to confirm i can get the card and also that I had a cab driver waiting for me outside and I had no way to pay him. I got the impression that she judged me as soon as I entered and must have assumed i was a homeless scammer and she was uninterested in trying to assist me even after knowing that I had no way to pay for my ride there and no way to get home .
I have never went to a bank that someone needs to personally verify every deposit and physical cheque before they could provide a debit card to a new client that has already been verified when I opened the account online with my drivers license and a selfie and also that it takes 15 minutes to obtain a debit card ..

She was going to call security on me.
How embarrassed was I to tell this nice cab driver that I had no way to pay him at all and I'm sorry I was devastated and he could have called the police or left me stranded in -32 with no way home downtown when i needed to pickup my 3 kids from daycare by 6 pm . I crying luckily he was nice enough to understand and drive me home now I have to go back to the bank at 10 am and I owe the cab driver$50 and it was all for nothing plus I have to do it all over again tomorrow. I don't actually want to step foot in that branch ever again and the agent said that is my home branch but the way that woman and the other young woman who came from the back made me feel like I was filth and not worth their time and was asking for more than I deserved ( she never identified herself nor did she ever ask my name or to see my id) . I have a horrible taste in my mouth from that location and the thing is there are only 2 brick and mortar stores in Edmonton and they are both downtown within blocks from each other but I live in clareview which is really far.

I have almost $1700 in this account and I feel like I should have never opened the account to start depositing my money into because it is a hassle.

Of course when I arrive home I promptly call and the agent said that should have never happened and I had every right yo obtain a card to access MY money and that the it will not happen again..I have never had such horrible treatment ever and the place was absolutely deserted not like they were busy just lazy and aloof .Who knows if i will have more problems or if i will graciously be granted a debit card tomorrow having tomiss work to try getting access to my hard earned money that I put in good faith most banks send a card in 3 days not 10+ not good ? should have went with any other bank
