Disappointing Experience at Design Apartment, Berlin***
I recently vacated the Design Apartment in Berlin at the end of April, and I must say that my experience has left me extremely dissatisfied. From the very beginning, there were several issues that marred my stay, and even after leaving, the problems persisted.
First and foremost, the handling of the deposit refund was an absolute nightmare. It took a painstakingly long 3 months for the deposit to be returned, and this only happened after relentless follow-ups with James Woodham, the designated contact person. It was a frustrating and time-consuming process that left me exasperated.
Furthermore, the communication from the management was nothing short of abysmal. Despite repeated attempts via emails, phone calls, and even WhatsApp messages, there has been no response regarding the return keys deposit of 70 Euros till now. This kind of negligence and lack of professionalism is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the management's commitment to tenant satisfaction.
During my stay at the Design Apartment, I also encountered issues related to cleanliness. The cleaning service provided was highly irregular, leaving the common areas and facilities in an unsatisfactory state. It's disheartening to pay for a service that is not upheld, especially when a certain level of cleanliness is expected in a rental property.
One of the most pressing concerns was the woefully inadequate laundry facilities. With a mere one washing machine available for a total of 20 households, the situation was far from ideal. To make matters worse, this lone machine was also used by pet owners, leading to concerns about hygiene and cleanliness. This arrangement was unsanitary and clearly not well thought out.
In conclusion, my experience at the Design Apartment in Berlin was characterized by poor management, subpar communication, inconsistent cleaning services, and inadequate facilities. The lack of responsiveness and professionalism from the management, particularly in matters concerning the deposit refund and communication, greatly detracted from the overall experience. I would strongly advise prospective tenants to reconsider renting from this establishment, as it falls far short of even the most basic standards expected from a rental property.
